Photographing Growth Over Time

One of the most rewarding parts of my work as a photographer is getting to grow alongside my clients.

Shannon is a PhD and professor at the University of Kentucky, working in the space of mental health and personality training. Her work centers around helping individuals understand their personality patterns and intentionally shape their personal and professional development. Does she look familiar? Her face and voice has reached national platforms, including features on CBS Sunday Morning and speaking on TED stages. You see all her amazing work here.

This wasn’t our first branding session together, we started working together back in 2024 and that’s what makes it so special.

When Your Influence Grows, Your Branding Should Too

As leaders expand their reach with authoring books, publications, appearing on t.v. and sharing on social media their visual identity must reflect that level of authority. What sets Shannon apart is her commitment to real, lasting growth. She's in the long game and will reap the benefits of keep showing up and investing in herself. Her work centers on intentional, science-backed personality change and makes them accessible in ways that feel practical, personal, and sustainable for real life.

For Shannon’s session, we focused on:

  • Elevated authority portraits suitable for media and keynote promotions (power poses)
  • Warm, approachable imagery for her personality development programs (she has the best laugh and smile)
  • Professional, polished visuals aligned with her academic leadership
  • Evergreen content for interviews, speaking features, and publications (prop placements)

Branding photography at this level is visual credibility.

Growing Together: The Gift of Repeat Clients

One of the things I value most in my work as a branding photographer is the opportunity to grow alongside my clients.

Shannon’s journey has unfolded over multiple sessions, we've met in the studio and enjoyed the outdoors! Each session created a different layer of her work and personality. Together, those sessions create a diverse visual library she can use across platforms and repeatedly!

That’s the beauty of repeat branding sessions.

They aren’t just about “new photos.” They’re about documenting evolution. As her influence expands from classrooms to national platforms like CBS her images evolves with her. I'm just so dang proud to be in her circle!!

As a branding photographer, my role is to help leaders visually communicate who they are becoming, not just who they’ve been.

Repeat clients mean trust.

They mean we’re building something long-term.

We both value to work we're putting in.

And that is something I never take for granted.

If your work has grown, shifted, or expanded, ummmm hello!! Your branding deserves to reflect that next level.
